Chinese hackers: No site is safe

ZHOUSHAN, China-They operate from a bare apartment on a Chinese island. They are intelligent 20-somethings who seem harmless. But they are hard-core hackers who claim to have gained access to the world's most sensitive sites, including the Pentagon. In fact, they say they are sometimes paid secretly by the Chinese government-a claim the Beijing government denies."No Web site is one hundred percent safe. There are Web sites with high-level security, but there is always a weakness," says Xiao Chen, the leader of this group. "Xiao Chen" is his online name.Along with his two colleagues, he does not want to reveal his true identity. The three belong to what some Western experts say is a civilian cyber militia in China, launching attacks on government and private Web sites around the world. If there is a profile of a cyber hacker, these three are straight from central casting-young and thin, with skin pale from spending too many long nights in front of a computer. One hacker says he is a former computer operator in the People's Liberation Army; another is a marketing graduate; and Xiao Chen says he is a self-taught programmer."First, you must know about the Web site you want to attack. You must know what program it is written with," says Xiao Chen."There is a saying, 'Know about both yourself and the enemy, and you will be invincible.'"CNN decided to withhold the address of these hackers' Web site, but Xiao Chen says it has been operating for more than three years, with 10,000 registered users. The site offers tools, articles, news and flash tutorials about hacking.Private computer experts in the United States from iDefense Security Intelligence, which provides cybersecurity advice to governments and Fortune 500 companies, say the group's site "appears to be an important site in the broader Chinese hacking community."Arranging a meeting with the hackers took weeks of on-again, off-again e-mail exchanges. When they finally agreed, CNN was told to meet them on the island of Zhoushan, just south of Shanghai and a major port for China's navy. The apartment has cement floors and almost no furniture. What they do have are three of the latest computers. They are cautious when it comes to naming the Web sites they have hacked. But eventually Xiao Chen claims two of his colleagues-not the ones with him in the room-have hacked into the Pentagon and downloaded information, although he wouldn't specify what was gleaned. CNN has no way to confirm if his claim is true."They would not publicize this," he says of someone who hacks the U.S. Defense Department. "It is very sensitive."This week, the Pentagon said computer networks in the United States, Germany, Britain and France were hit last year by what they call "multiple intrusions," many of them originating from China. At a congressional hearing in Washington last week, administration officials testified that the government's cyber initiative has fallen far short of what is required. Most alarming, the officials said, there has never been a full damage assessment of federal agency networks."We are here today because we must do more," said Robert Jamison, a top official in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. "Defending the federal system in its current configuration is a significant challenge."U.S. officials have been cautious not to directly accuse the Chinese military or its government of hacking into its network. But David Sedney, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia, says,"The way these intrusions are conducted are certainly consistent with what you would need if you were going to actually carry out cyber warfare."Beijing hit back at that, denying such an allegation and calling on the United States to provide proof. "If they have any evidence, I hope they would provide it. Then, we can cooperate on this issue," Qin Gang, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said during a regular press briefing this week. But Xiao Chen says after the alleged Pentagon attack, his colleagues were paid by the Chinese government. Again, CNN has no way to independently confirm if that is true. His allegations brought strenuous denials from Beijing."I am telling you honestly, the Chinese government does not do such a thing," Qin said. But if Xiao Chen is telling the truth, it appears his colleagues launched a freelance attack-not initiated by Beijing, but paid for after the fact. "These hacker groups in my opinion are not agents of the Chinese state," says James Mulvenon from the Center for Intelligence Research and Analysis, which works with the U.S. intelligence community."They are sort of useful idiots for the Beijing regime."He adds,"These young hackers are tolerated by the regime provided that they do not conduct attacks inside of China."One of the biggest problems experts say is trying to prove where a cyber attack originates from, and that they say allows hackers like Xiao Chen to operate in a virtual world of deniability. And across China, there could be thousands just like him, all trying to prove themselves against some of the most secure Web sites in the world.

END TIMES WEATHER:One dead as tornadoes rip through Florida and Georgia

CAPITOLA, Florida-Tornadoes cut through Florida and Georgia on Friday, destroying homes, felling trees and power lines and killing one person as a record series of winter tornadoes continued to pound the United States. The National Weather Service had reports of at least 12 tornadoes that flipped cars, damaged homes and interrupted power supplies in northern Florida and southern Georgia.A 62-year-old woman was killed when a tree fell on her mobile home in a twister that ripped through Lake City, Florida, damaging or destroying 50 homes and a dozen businesses, Columbia County emergency management spokesman Harvey Campbell said. Sixteen people suffered minor injuries and a man died when he tried to hook up a power generator after the storm knocked out electricity to as many as 16,000 people."It's pretty devastating. Lots of trees damaged, substantial power pole damage, lots of homes that have been reduced to brick and wood," Campbell said.Florida resident Joe Thornton said he had left for work when he got a call a tornado had ripped through his house in Capitola, near the state capital, Tallahassee. He returned home to find pieces of his neighbor's metal roof wrapped around his trees. His mules, Curly and Ella, were covered in grass and broken twigs and were grumpy but unhurt."It doesn't take but one of these tornadoes to make a lifetime of premiums worthwhile," Thornton said. "I feel blessed we're all OK."

Lone English Auschwitz survivor dies aged 97

LONDON-Leon Greenman, the only Englishman in the Auschwitz death camp, died in a London hospital on Friday aged 97, the Jewish Museum said.Greenman's Dutch wife Esther and three-year-old son Barney died in the notorious World War Two concentration camp."He recently broke his leg and was in hospital in North London when he died today," a museum spokeswoman said.Greenman, who survived six concentration camps and a 90 km (60 mile) death march from Auschwitz, swore during his captivity that if he survived he would spend the rest of his life telling the world what had happened to him and millions of other prisoners. It was a promise he kept, writing a book "An Englishman in Auschwitz" and lecturing widely until very recently. In 1988 he received an honor, the OBE, for his work against racism.Born in London on December 18, 1910, Greenman moved to Rotterdam with his family at the age of five. He met Esther van Dam, who was Dutch but lived in London, in the early 1930s.They married in London in 1935 but returned to Rotterdam to care for her grandmother.Their son Barney was born in 1940.The Germans invaded the Netherlands in May 1940, and in October 1942 the Greenmans were taken from their home with several hundred other Jews and sent first to Westerbork and then Auschwitz, where his wife and son died in the gas chamber.Greenman was liberated from Buchenwald on April 11, 1945 by the American 3rd Army.He never remarried and grieved for his wife and son for the rest of his life, the museum said.

World disgusted by attack on Jerusalem school

[[[World governments issued a fresh wave of condemnation Friday of a gun attack in a Jerusalem religious school, after the Islamist group Hamas claimed responsibility for the shooting. The strongest language came from Washington, where there was anger over the scenes of joy in the streets of Gaza, where crowds of Palestinian gunmen fired into the air to celebrate Thursday's murder of eight teenagers."It was extremely disheartening to see people in the streets in Gaza and elsewhere celebrating such an attack. That is fairly disgusting, actually," White House spokesman Tony Fratto told reporters."This was a vicious attack, there is nothing that can explain away this kind of attack. But the most important thing is that the peace process continues and that the parties are committed to it," ]]]he added.Already on Thursday,US President George W. Bush had branded the attack "barbaric and vicious", leading a chorus of outrage from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and governments around the world. Condemnation continued to roll in from all quarters on Friday, [[[but Hamas was unmoved,]]] and a senior official in the movement told AFP that it was preparing to formally claim responsibility for the attack. Hamas rules the Gaza Strip, which in the recent weeks has seen a surge in violence and more than 130 Palestinians have died as Israeli forces respond to the firing of makeshift rockets at Jewish communities.{{{{{{Earlier, Lebanese Hezbollah had said Thursday's school killings were carried out in reprisal for the death of one of the anti-Israeli militia's senior commanders, who was assassinated in a Damascus bombing on Februaury 12.But whoever sent the Palestinian gunman, 25-year-old Alaa Hisham Abu Dheim, to kill students at the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva, a theological school in mainly Jewish west Jerusalem, the reaction from around the world was similar.}}}}}}"The fatal shootings in Jerusalem are an unacceptable terrorist attack and I condemn them in as strong terms as they have been condemned by the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and others," said Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt. But while the condemnation of the attack was very clear, Bildt and others urged the parties in the Middle East peace process not to allow their anger to further disrupt attempts to push forward with dialogue."After the recent events in Gaza, we are in a very sensitive situation. It is therefore important that both parties-despite what has happened-are firmly determined to move the peace negotiations forward," he said.Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi also urged Israel to pursue peace talks with the Palestinians despite attacking the "cowardly" shooting. And a statement from the Turkish foreign ministry echoed this message, saying: "We sincerely hope this hateful attack will strengthen both sides' determination to achieve peace."Human rights group Amnesty International also condemned the school attack as "a gross abuse of international humanitarian law" but urged Israel not to react with more military action in the Palestinian territories."The lives of Palestinian civilians, who bear no responsibility for yesterday's attack in Jerusalem, should not be put in jeopardy as a result," said Malcolm Stuart, Amnesty's chief for the Middle East and North Africa.Attempts Thursday by the UN Security Council to agree a statement on the shootings fell apart amid an angry row between Israel and Libya, which wanted to also condemn Israeli attacks on Palestinian targets. But individually, most leading nations were forthright in their response.British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: "This is clearly an attempt to strike a blow at the very heart of the peace process."He added: "I think it's very important to emphasise that those people who want to stop the peace process should be stopped from doing so by the combined determination of the whole world."German Chancellor Angela Merkel was "devastated" by the attack and condemned it "in the strongest terms," a government spokesman said.French President Nicolas Sarkozy condemned what he called a "cowardly and barbarous" act, his spokesman said.He would insist on the importance of continuing Israeli-Palestinian peace talks when he meets Israeli President Shimon Peres in Paris next Monday, the spokesman added."We strongly and unreservedly condemn this terrorist act which has no justification," a statement from the Russian foreign ministry said.

Basque killing halts Spanish election campaign

MADRID-[[[[Spain's main political parties cancelled closing campaign rallies on Friday, two days before an election, after a former councilor from the governing Socialist Party was shot dead in the Basque Country. The government blamed ETA separatists for the killing of Isaias Carrasco, who was shot several times in front of his wife and young daughter outside his house in the town of Mondragon. Whether Carrasco's murder would have any effect on the outcome of Sunday's election, in which the Socialists are favorites, was not immediately clear.]]]]In 2004, Socialist Party leader Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero became prime minister as a result of a surprise election victory three days after an attack by Islamist militants who killed 191 people by bombing Madrid trains. Both the Socialist Party and the opposition Popular Party cancelled rallies scheduled for Friday, the last day campaigning is allowed.[[["Spanish democracy will not accept challenges from people opposed to its basic principles," Zapatero told a news conference in which he blamed ETA for the killing."The people who have taken part in this murder will be arrested and tried,"]]] said the prime minister, who was told of the killing while waving to followers at a campaign rally in the Andalusian city of Malaga. Hamas claims responsibility

Hamas claims deadliest attack in Israel in 2 years

JERUSALEM-[[[Hamas claimed responsibility on Friday for shooting eight students at a Jewish seminary in Jerusalem, the most lethal Palestinian attack on Israelis in two years and a blow to international efforts to revive peace talks. The Islamists, who also claimed a suicide bombing a month ago, had vowed to hit back after an Israeli offensive on the Hamas-run Gaza Strip killed more than 120 people in recent days.A lone gunman killed the young men on Thursday at the Merkaz Harav religious college. But the Israeli government said it would keep talking with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas's secular rival in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.]]]Washington, sponsor of a peace process already buffeted by the killing of dozens of civilians in Israel's latest Gaza offensive, said the fact that the talks were continuing was "the most important thing".Some mourners at funerals for the dead, who were studying at a bastion of the Jewish settler movement in the West Bank, were less positive about the process. And Israel's security minister said hostile Arabs like the dead gunman should be forced out of the mixed city of Jerusalem and sent to live in the West Bank.[[[[[["The Hamas movement announces its full responsibility for the Jerusalem operation," a Hamas official told Reuters in the Gaza Strip, where Hamas seized control from Abbas in June. HAVE I ANY PLEASURE AT ALL THAT THE WICKED SHOULD DIE...?

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die.The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right,he shall surely live,he shall not die.
All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him:in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD:and not that he should return from his ways, and live?"

Israelis Mourn 8 Killed at Seminary

JERUSALEM-Thousands gathered Friday outside a bullet-scarred Jewish seminary in Jerusalem to mourn eight students killed by a Palestinian gunman.[[[[[[Hamas militants in Gaza claimed responsibility for the attack.]]]]]]Masses of mourners marched in funeral processions after a rabbi recited Hebrew psalms line by line, the crowd repeating them after him in memory of the dead.Israeli officials said the victims were between ages 15 and 19 except one, who was 26.They identified one of the slain as 16-year-old Avraham David Moses, an American citizen whose parents moved to Israel in the 1990s.Israel slapped a closure on the West Bank and beefed up security and emergency forces around Jerusalem and other areas in the wake of the shooting, the first major attack in Jerusalem in four years and the deadliest in Israel since a suicide bomber killed 11 people in Tel Aviv on April 17, 2006.The attack came on the heels of a surge in fighting between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza. More than 120 Palestinians and three Israelis died in the clashes, which were sparked by an increase in militant rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel.A Hamas radio presenter said the group's military wing had "promised a jolting response" to the Israeli offensive, and called on believers to "celebrate this victory against the brutal enemy."Some Israeli lawmakers called on their government to break off peace talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' moderate, West Bank- based government, but an Israeli official said the negotiations would continue.Israel will push ahead with talks "so as not to punish moderate Palestinians for actions by people who are not just our enemies but theirs as well," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the government had yet to make an official announcement.{{{{{{{{{{The family of Alaa Abu Dheim, a 25-year-old from east Jerusalem, said he had carried out the attack on the seminary, a prestigious center of Jewish studies identified with the leadership of the Jewish settlement movement in the West Bank. He would not confirm that Israel had reached a decision to continue peace talks, but did not deny the other official's statement that negotiations would go on.Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the attacker walked through the Mercaz Harav yeshiva seminary's main gate and entered the library, where witnesses said some 80 students were gathered. He carried an assault rifle and pistol, and opened fire with both weapons.Students scrambled to flee, jumping out of windows as the gunman fired.Holy books drenched in blood littered the floor. Rosenfeld said at least six empty bullet clips were found on the floor.David Simchon, head of the seminary, said the students had been preparing a celebration for the new month of the Jewish calendar, which includes the holiday of Purim."We were planning to have a Purim party here tonight and instead we had a massacre," he told Channel 2 TV.A seminary graduate who is an army officer and lives nearby rushed into the seminary with his weapon and killed the gunman, Simchon told Israel Radio."He saw the terrorist shooting, and with amazing resourcefulness he went into one of the rooms and managed to kill him," he said. The seminary serves some 400 high school students and young Israeli soldiers, and many of them carry arms.[[[[[[Jewish seminarians gathered outside the library and screamed for revenge, shouting,"Death to Arabs," while in Hamas-controlled Gaza thousands of Palestinians celebrated in the streets.Abu Dheim's family set up a mourning tent outside their home and hung green Hamas flags along with one yellow flag of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.Family members said several relatives had already been taken for questioning by Israeli police.]]]]]] Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who called the attack an "act of terror and depravity," told Abbas in a phone call Friday that she would do everything in her power to restore calm as soon as possible, said Abbas aide Nabil Abu Rdeneh, an aide to Abbas. Somaliland Residents Express High Hopes for Independence

In Somaliland's capital Hargeisa, people gather for a rally to reaffirm their independence from Somalia, a war-torn country they say they want no part of.Somaliland sits along the coast of the Gulf of Aden in the northernmost part of what is internationally recognized as Somalia. Somaliland declared independence in 1991. It has its own government, police force, army and other institutions. But even Somalia does not recognize the independence that is dear to the hearts of Somalilanders like Abdi Barre Osman, who took part in the rally in Hargeisa. He says, "If you get recognition, maybe you can get your rights or you can get everything, but if you do not have any recognition, maybe you are like nothing. So we are requesting from the world community to recognize our country as soon as possible. "Somalilanders stress that their country is peaceful and orderly-a fully functional state in sharp contrast to the chaotic warlord system and weak central government of Somalia."We are happy that we have rehabilitated thousands of militiamen, which was a hard job. They were taken to camps and retrained to become national military, police, and prison wardens," says, Vice President Ahmed Yusuf Yassin. The British had a strong presence in Somaliland by the late 1800s, with Somaliland becoming a British protectorate, separate from Italian-ruled lands to the south.Somaliland gained independence from Britain in 1960, but that lasted only a matter of days before it united with the Italian-run region as Somalia.Edna Adan Ismail is a former Somaliland foreign minister and a strong advocate of international recognition. She says that because the British never settled in Somaliland and ran things at arm's length, Somalianders had more experience in conflict resolution than Italian-governed Somalis."This strengthened the traditions, the cultural traditional links of the people, their agreements, their way of dealing with problems, of negotiations, of discussions, of clan consultations," she said.Bitter memories of the war that started in the 1980s and lasted until 1991 deepens the division. Former Somali leader Siad Barre sent troops to crush the budding independence movement. And the death and destruction left behind traumatized the people. Many now see a brighter future, with hopes high for international recognition. Near the end of January, President Dahir Riyale returned to Somaliland after visiting the United States and Britain.Yassin says he thinks it is only a matter of time before the United States and others recognize an independent Somaliland,"The world is not coming to us for nothing. They are coming to us for the resources available in our country. The world should be interested in us.Now the time is near when the world should come to Somaliland because of the Middle East crisis.Because of this crisis, fuel prices are going up.We are an alternative source of fuel."Somalilanders say they will continue to develop their budding nation, relying on investments and remittances from their kin living abroad to do so.

The Mediterranean Union: Dividing the Middle East and North Africa

The Middle East and North Africa are in the process of being divided into spheres of influence between the European Union and the United States. Essentially the division of the Middle East and North Africa are between Franco-German and Anglo-American interests. There is a unified stance within NATO in regards to this re-division.While on the surface Iraq falls within the Anglo-American orbit, the Eastern Mediterranean and its gas resources have been set to fall into the Franco-German orbit. In fact the Mediterranean region as a whole, from Morocco and gas-rich Algeria to the Levant is coveted by Franco-German interests, but there is more to this complex picture than meets the eye.Unknown to the global public, several milestone decisions have been made to end Franco-German and Anglo-American squabbling that will ultimately call for joint management of the spoils of war. Franco-German and Anglo-American interests are converging into one. The reality of the situation is that the area ranging from Mauritania to the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan will be shared by America, Britain, France, Germany, and their allies. These spheres of influence are really spheres of responsibility in a long campaign to restructure the Middle East and North Africa. The services agreement between Total S.A. and Chevron to jointly develop Iraqi energy reserves, NATO agreements in the Persian Gulf, and the establishment of a permanent French military base in the U.A.E. are all results of these objectives. Militant globalization and force is at work from Iraq and Lebanon to the Maghreb.
Redrawing European Security Borders: The Road to Redrawing the Map of the Middle East
“The politics [foreign policy] of a state are in its geography.”-Napoleon Bonaparte I, Emperor of the French, King of Italy, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine, and Mediator of the Helvetic (Swiss) ConfederationBefore NATO’s Riga Summit it was agreed upon that the western periphery of the “Arc of Instability” would be manned by NATO and fall under Franco-German responsibility. Signs of the consensus reached between the Anglo-American and Franco-German sides had emerged through Franco-German representatives a month prior to NATO’s conference in Riga, Latvia. While lecturing at Princeton University in October 2006, Joschka Fischer the former German Foreign Affairs Minister, a member of the Green Party of Germany, and a representative of the Franco-German entente gave a profound revelation about the direction of the foreign, security, and defence policy that Germany and France were heading towards. The direction according to Joschka Fischer was “eastward,” with both the Middle East and its Eastern Mediterranean waters being named as the new borders of Europe. This region would be part of the new security sphere of the E.U. and Europe. The former German minister stated that the terrorist bombings in London, Britain and Madrid, Spain showed that the Middle East “is truly our [Europe’s] backyard, and we in the E.U. must cease our shortsightedness and recognize that.”Furthermore, Joschka Fischer warned that Europe needed to shift its attention to the Middle East and Turkey — a member of NATO and one of the “gateways” or “entrances” into the Middle East. It is not coincidental that The New York Times also argued for the expansion of NATO into the Middle East just months after the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq in 2003. By 2004 and through the joint Anglo-American and Franco-German coordination in Lebanon it was clear that France and Germany had agreed to be America’s bridgeheads in Eurasia. This is what brought about the leadership of Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy in Berlin and Paris. The statements of Joschka Fischer reflected a broader attitude within the leading circles of France and Germany. They are not coincidental remarks or innovative in nature or isolated statements. They are part of long-standing objectives and policies that have existed for decades. Fischer’s lecture foreshadowed the drive towards the harmonization of foreign policy in the Middle East between France, Germany, Britain, and the United States. What Joschka Fischer said marked the rapprochement of the Franco-German entente and the Anglo-American alliance and foreshadowed the greater role the E.U. and NATO would play in U.S. foreign policy. The Daily Princetonian, Princeton’s school/university newspaper, quoted the former German official as making the following statements: .1. “Europe’s security is no longer defined on its [Europe’s] eastern borders, but in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.”.2. “Turkey should be a security pillar for the European community, and the efforts to derail that relationship are impossibly shortsighted.”Joschka Fischer’s statements also foreshadow Nicolas Sarkozy’s public campaign in the Mediterranean region. Franco-German policy is also exposed in regards to Turkey; before Nicolas Sarkozy was elected in France, Chancellor Angela Merkel intensified her calls for the inclusion of Turkey within the framework of the E.U. through a “special relationship,” but not as part of the actual European bloc. This also foreshadowed what Nicolas Sarkozy would later propose to the Turks. This could mean one of two things: Franco-German policy is part of a continuum regardless of leadership and party politics or that the outcome of the 2007 French presidential elections were known in Berlin or decided beforehand. Whatever the case, the German statements expose a calculated agenda in Paris, Berlin, and other European circles for expansion linked to the Anglo-American march to war.

Cape Town - Cabinet has condemned recent incidents of racism and sexism around the country, saying they have the potential to undermine South Africa's Constitution, a government spokesperson said on Thursday."The transgressors must know that there will be legal consequences for undermining the Constitution and trudging the rights of others," government communications head Themba Maseko told a post-Cabinet media briefing at Parliament. The incidents include the notorious Free State University video, the attack on a young woman wearing a mini-skirt by taxi drivers in Johannesburg, and 2010 local organising committee chairman Irvin Khoza's use of the word "kaffir".At its regular fortnightly meeting on Wednesday, Cabinet took a dim view of the incidents that had the potential to undermine the country's goal of building a democratic, non-racial and non sexist society, Maseko said.
Major challenge
The meeting strongly condemned the production of a racist video by four students at the University of the Free State."The humiliation of workers who are old enough to be their parents is totally unacceptable and cannot, under any circumstances be condoned by anyone."This incident highlights the fact that racism still remains one of the major challenges that face our young democracy."The video exposed deep-seated racist stereotypes harboured by a section of the population and constituted a complete disregard for the rights, not only of the workers of the institution, but a total disrespect for adults, he said."Government believes that the majority of South Africans are trying hard to emerge from the apartheid legacy of racial discrimination and no effort must be spared in ensuring that the South African project of building a united nation is not undermined by individuals who are opposed to transformation."
Leadership is needed
The university should show strong leadership by bringing those responsible to book and setting an example to all institutions of higher learning by adopting concrete measures to abolish all forms of racism in the institution.Cabinet also condemned unreservedly the recent harassment of a young woman by taxi drivers in Johannesburg for wearing a mini-skirt."Such an attack represents the most backward and the worst form of gender-based abuse and deserves the condemnation by all South Africans," Maseko said."Government calls on all men, and taxi drivers in particular, to stop harassing women and to distance themselves from any sexist and disrespectful behaviour against our mothers and daughters."The meeting further condemned the use of the "kaffir" word by "a senior soccer official" at a press conference recently."We should take care not to use derogatory words that were used to demean black persons in this country."Words such as 'Kaffir', 'coolie', 'Boesman', 'hotnot' and many others have negative connotations and remain offensive as they were used to degrade, undermine and strip South Africans of their humanity and dignity," Maseko said.

NWO WATCH:Rethink on identity cards plans

The government has set out changes to its planned identity scheme - including allowing people to use passports or driving licences instead of ID cards. Most people will not now have to give their fingerprints when getting a passport until 2011/12 - three years later than had previously been planned. And plans to force passport applicants to get an ID card have been dropped. The exception will be airport and other workers in security-sensitive jobs who will need an ID card from 2009. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said students would also be encouraged to get identity cards from 2010, as part of plans to let "consumer demand" drive take-up.She confirmed that some non-EU migrants applying for leave to enter or remain in the UK, such as students or spouses, will need ID cards from November. The aim is that by 2015, 90% of foreign nationals will have identity cards, she added. The announcement was branded a "complete U-turn" by Lib Dem home affairs spokesman Chris Huhne - but the Tories said the government was trying to introduce the scheme by stealth. The government had planned to take biometrics - including fingerprints and iris scans - of everyone applying for a new passport from 2008.
'Public acceptance'
The original proposal was that from January 2010 everyone getting a new passport would have to get an ID card in addition to a passport.Ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair had said that a major plank of Labour's next election manifesto would be a bill to make it compulsory for everyone, irrespective of whether they get a passport or not, to get an ID card. But those timetables have slipped, the proposed biometric data cut back to just fingerprints and no mention made of any foreseeable plans to make identity cards compulsory. "While there are big advantages to making ID cards as widespread as possible, we need to be clear there is public acceptance," Ms Smith told BBC Radio 4's Today programme. She said that information on the national identity register would not be held on a single, central database for security reasons and she said the "full roll-out" of ID cards would happen by 2017.Private firms will be encouraged to set-up "biometric enrolment centres" where passport and ID card applicants will be fingerprinted.
Recommendation rejected
In a speech in London, Ms Smith "endorsed" the findings of Sir James Crosby - whose report on working with the private sector on ID cards recommended a more consumer-driven approach.
But the home office rejected one of Sir James' key recommendations - that ID cards should be free of charge. The government's plans for ID cards, linking personal data to a fingerprint, have been plagued by technical delays, budget overspend and political controversy. The government claims identity cards will boost security, tackle identity fraud and prevent illegal immigration.
Critics oppose the cards on cost, effectiveness and civil liberty grounds.Shadow home secretary David Davis told BBC One's Question Time the government was trying to bring in compulsory ID cards "by stealth"."They are trying to introduce this very slowly so that by the time they come to make it compulsory they will have more than half the population already on and the politics will have gone out of it," he said.
'Disastrous idea'
He was particularly concerned about the "lethally dangerous" National Identity Register because he said holding personal details of everyone in one place would be a target for criminals, hackers and terrorists."It's a disastrous idea, they should have the guts to actually cancel it," he said.Lib Dem peer Shirley Williams told the same programme her party would fight ID cards "all the way" adding: "The terrifying thing about the ID card system, and it is unnecessary, is the sheer amount of information the government is trying to pick up on every single one of you."Phil Booth, of campaign group NO2ID dismissed Ms Smith's latest announcement as a "marketing exercise"."Whether you volunteer or are coerced onto the ID database, there's no way back. You'll be monitored for life," he said. The UK's main aviation trade union, Unite, has also criticised the plans, which it said could discriminate against some of its members who already have to undergo "vigorous pre-employment checks".

LEWDNESS WATCH:Denver Airport Blocks Online Access to Pornography

Denver International Airport (DIA), which offers free Internet access, has blocked access to Web sites that contain indecent content.DIA spokesman Chuck Cannon said officials would rather deal with complaints about blocked sites than handle complaints from angry parents whose children have been exposed to pornography at their airport.Daniel Weiss, senior analyst for media and sexuality at Focus on the Family Action, said it's unfortunate the airport is being criticized for its decision.“There seems to be a trend gaining traction in society that the desires of adults should trump the needs of children,” he said. “Thankfully, the officials at DIA have taken a stand to protect children and adults from content that psychologists know to be harmful. How sad that a handful of people are complaining about not getting to watch porn in a public area.”
TAKE ACTION
Thank Denver International Airport officials for protecting children from pornography.

Stockstill's Urgent Plea: "We Have a Window of Time for Repentance"

Louisiana pastor Larry Stockstill [[[had a disturbing dream last week.He saw military trucks and armored vehicles getting in formation for a surprise strike on an American city. Stockstill felt alarmed, but when he tried to warn a pastor in his dream, the man ignored him."I knew in my dream that a siege was going to happen the next day,"Stockstill says."The enemy was being positioned. But no one would listen to me."]]]
Stockstill, pastor of the 10,000-member Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge,[[[believes his dream was a prophetic warning about the spiritual condition of our nation. While America teeters near an economic and political precipice, many American church leaders are going on with their business as usual—without realizing that the church is in a state of serious moral crisis. "I believe we are facing a window of opportunity for repentance," Stockstill says. "Unless the pastors wake up to avert judgment, there will be judgment on America. If we don't respond we are going to lose this nation."]]]Stockstill became alarmed about the anemic condition of American churches in 2006, when he had to step in and help bring discipline to Ted Haggard, the Colorado pastor who was removed as senior leader of New Life Church because of a moral failure. Stockstill offered correction and oversight to Haggard and his family and helped the leaders of New Life pick up the pieces after the scandal. Many observers praised Stockstill for his level-headed leadership and compassionate but strict adherence to biblical principles during the crisis. What Stockstill learned during that painful process became the basis of a new book,The Remnant: Restoring Integrity to American Ministry. He hopes the message will trigger a movement of holiness and integrity in the American church, which has suffered a long string of embarrassing sexual and financial failures since Haggard's fall 15 months ago."We look like a sleaze bucket in the eyes of the nation," says the 54-year-old pastor, who has avoided the national spotlight during most of his 33 years in ministry. Once a missionary in Africa, Stockstill has focused most of his ministry on church planting and missions. Bethany has helped start more than 17,000 churches worldwide since 2000.Stockstill says the level of dysfunction among American ministers concerns him because their unhealthiness is then passed down to their congregations. He sees five types of common dysfunction among ministers today, especially in the independent charismatic movement:
Lack of fathering (no affirmation, encouragement or spiritual covering)
Lack of correction (no accountability, resulting in pride and moral failure)
Lack of fruitfulness (no training in evangelism and discipleship, preventing churches from multiplying as they should)
Lack of healing (many pastors suffer silently because of sins and addictions)
Lack of teaching (many in ministry today are untaught, resulting in biblically illiterate churches). At a conference Stockstill is hosting in Baton Rouge from March 4-6, he hopes to blast his trumpet and rally hundreds of pastors to address this crisis while there is still time."We really have to relay the foundations of ministry in this country,"he says."Many pastors have not been fathered, so they become 'posers'—they are just looking to impress people.'"Pride, Stockstill says, is a primary reason why so many leaders in the American church have fallen in recent years—including mature spiritual fathers who had years of successful ministry behind them but stumbled in their later years. "You look at leaders in the Bible like Solomon, or like Samson, and you find that years of success can lead a person into pride. And when pride comes, it brings a lack of accountability," he explains. At his Remnant conference, which will feature messages from Arizona pastor Tommy Barnett and Texas broadcaster James Robison, Stockstill hopes hundreds of pastors will seize the moment and launch a movement to reclaim kingdom values including humility, purity and honesty—as well as passion for missions and church planting.
"We don't have a lot of time," Stockstill says, recalling again his dream about impending danger. "We need a quick work of the Holy Spirit."

Israel announces 'willingness' to negotiate with Syria;Sources say secret, high-level dialogue with Damascus began months ago

JAFFA, Israel-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced today negotiations between the Jewish state and Syria should be seriously considered it if would bring an end to Syrian-sponsored terrorism and Damascus' "involvement in the axis of evil."WND exclusively reported last month Olmert's government already has been secretly holding high-level talks with Syria regarding renewing negotiations over an Israeli retreat from the strategic Golan Heights.Top diplomatic sources in Jerusalem confirmed Defense Minister Ehud Barak, a former prime minister, has been passing official messages regularly to Syrian President Bashar Assad regarding Israel's willingness to negotiate over the Golan. The messages are being transmitted by the Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv with the sanctioning of Turkish President Abdullah Gul.The talks continued even after the assassination in Syria last month of Hezbollah arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyah. Most Arab countries, including Syria, charged Israel was behind the top terrorist's elimination. The Golan Heights is strategic, mountainous territory looking down on Israeli and Syrian population centers twice used by Damascus to launch ground invasions into the Jewish state. The diplomatic sources speaking to WND said the message-passing between Israel and Syria determined Damascus is ready to discuss the Golan on condition the U.S. offers Syria a package that includes ending sanctions against the Assad government and pledges of aid to Damascus. The sources said no actual negotiations over the Golan have taken place.Syria openly provides refuge to Palestinian terror leaders, including the chiefs of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and has been accused of shipping weapons to Hezbollah. Damascus is also accused of supporting the insurgency against U.S. troops in Iraq. The reports of talks about the Golan follows last November's U.S.-backed Annapolis summit at which Olmert pledged to work with the Palestinian Authority to create a Palestinian state by the end of the year. Syria also was invited to the conference, where officials hosted a talk at which Israel was called upon to vacate the Golan Heights.
'Furious frenzy' to get Russian missiles
Olmert's announcement of Israel's willingness to negotiate comes after WND reported Syria, aided by Russia and Iran, in recent months has been furiously acquiring rockets and missiles, including projectiles capable of hitting any point in Israel. The officials listed anti-tank, anti-aircraft and ballistic missiles as some of the arms procured by Syria.A Jordanian security official said one of the main reasons Damascus did not retaliate after Israel carried out its Sept. 6 air strike inside Syria – which allegedly targeted a nascent nuclear facility – was because Syria's rocket infrastructure was not yet complete. The official said that after the Israeli air strike, Syria picked up the pace of acquiring rockets and missiles, largely from Russia with Iranian backing, with the goal of completing its missile and rocket arsenal by the end of the year. The Jordanian official said Syria is aiming to possess the capacity to fire more than 100 rockets into Israel per hour for a sustained period of time."The Syrians have three main goals: to maximize their anti-tank, anti-aircraft and ballistic missile and rocket capabilities," explained the Jordanian official.
According to Israeli and Jordanian officials, Syria recently quietly struck a deal with Russia that allows Moscow to station submarines and war boats off Syrian ports. In exchange, Russia is supplying Syria with weaponry at lower costs, with some of the missiles and rockets being financed by Iran."The Iranians opened an extended credit line with Russia for Syria with the purpose of arming Syria," said one Jordanian security official."Russia's involvement and strategic positioning is almost like a return to its Cold War stance," the official said. Both the Israeli and Jordanian officials told WND large quantities of Syrian rockets and missiles are being stockpiled at the major Syrian ports of Latakia and Tartus.Syria's new acquisitions include Russia's S-300 surface-to-air missile defense shield, which is similar to the U.S.-funded, Israeli engineered Arrow anti-missile system currently deployed in Israel. The S-300 system is being run not by Syria but by Russian naval technicians who work from Syria's ports, security officials said.New ballistic missiles and rockets include Alexander rockets and a massive quantity of various Scud surface-to-surface missiles, including Scud B and Scud D missiles.Israeli security officials noted Syria recently test-fired two Scud D surface-to-surface missiles, which have a range of about 250 miles, covering most Israeli territory. The officials said the Syrian missile test was coordinated with Iran and is believed to have been successful. It is not known what type of warhead the missiles had.In addition to longer-range Scuds, Syria is in possession of shorter-range missiles such as 220 millimeter and 305 millimeter rockets, some of which have been passed on to the Lebanon-based terrorist group Hezbollah.Israel has information Syria recently acquired and deployed Chinese-made C-802 missiles, which were successfully used against the Israeli navy during Israel's war against Hezbollah in 2006. The missiles were passed to Syria by Iran, Israeli security officials told WND.Russia recently sold to Syria advanced anti-tank missiles similar to the projectiles that devastated Israeli tanks during the last Lebanon war, causing the highest number of Israeli troop casualties during the 34 days of military confrontations. Syria and Russia are negotiating the sale of advanced anti-aircraft missiles.

Communist FARC Rebels Love Obama

And want him to win the election because he’s the US politician most aligned with their Marxist ideology.
"Dead terrorist Raul Reyes had information that FARC was meeting “gringos” about Obama.
The computers captured this past weekend by Colombian soldiers at the campsite of FARC #2 Raul Reyes contained loads of damning information on FARC sympathizers and allies.

'Peace partner' websites call Jerusalem attack 'heroic':Thousands of Palestinians dancing in street, distributing sweets

JERUSALEM-While Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was quick to condemn today's deadly shooting massacre in Jerusalem, news websites affiliated with Abbas' Fatah organization labeled the attack "heroic.""In a heroic act of martyrdom, at least one hero infiltrated a Zionist school in occupied Jerusalem," stated the beginning of a news dispatch on Fatah's Firas Press website translated by WND.Another Fatah-affiliated news site, PalPress, also used the term "heroic" to label today's attack, in which at least eight Jews were killed and another dozen were wounded, some seriously."President Mahmoud Abbas condemns the attack in Jerusalem that claimed the lives of many Israelis, and he reiterated his condemnation of all attacks that target civilians, whether they are Palestinians or Israelis,"chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat told Meanwhile, the Fatah-affiliated news websites were brimming with congratulatory nods to Fatah's Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades for today's attack, even though the Brigades did not claim responsibility for the mass shooting. An Israeli-Arab group did. Most talkbacks were signed by Palestinians in the West Bank. Talkbacks on PalPress included:
"Kol Hakavod" – Hebrew for "More honor to you."
"We bless you for the attacks."
"Allah is great."
"The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades are the heroes."
"Allah bless the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades."
"We strengthen Al Aqsa and we ask them for more."
Also today, upon news of the attack, celebrations reportedly broke out in the Gaza Strip, where news footage showed thousands of Palestinians in the streets distributing sweets, dancing and firing their rifles into the air. Local mosques announced prayers of celebration.According to reports, one, possibly two gunmen infiltrated the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva, located near the entrance to Jerusalem, and fired hundreds of rounds of bullets at students. One terrorist, who may have been armed with an explosive device, made his way to the yeshiva's main study room, where about 80 students were reportedly gathered.Israeli police said eight were killed and nearly a dozen were wounded, some seriously.[[["The terrorist fired 500-600 bullets,"]]] Michael, a student who was in the yeshiva, told Israel's Channel 2 television. Michael, who would not give his last name, said most of those injured and killed were teenagers. One terrorist reportedly was shot to death by a student who was armed with a rifle. It was not immediate clear if a second terrorist was present, escaped or was possibly hiding in the yeshiva. Police were searching the yeshiva and went house-to-house in the immediate vicinity of the school in search of a possible second gunman. The Mercaz Yeshiva is well known for its religious Zionism and its affiliation with what is known as the settlement movement, or the movement associated with Jewish communities in the West Bank.[[[An Israeli-Arab group calling itself the Freedom Brigades of the Galilee took credit for the shooting, claiming it was to avenge the assassination in Syria last month of arch-Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, who topped Israel's most wanted list and was responsible for infamous deadly attacks against the U.S. and Israel, including involvement in the 1983 bombing of a U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon.reporters today.]]]

TERROR WATCH:Commander Warns of al-Qaida Threat to US

WASHINGTON-Al-Qaida terrorists may be plotting more urgently to attack the United States to maintain their credibility and ability to recruit followers, the U.S. military commander in charge of domestic defense said Thursday.Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, chief of the U.S. Northern Command,(picture left) told reporters he has not seen any direct threats tied to the U.S. presidential elections. But he said it would be imprudent to think that such threats are not there."We need only to look at Spain and see that they're certainly willing to try to do something that is significant that could affect an election process," Renuart said. "I think it would be imprudent of us to let down our guard believing that if there's no credible threat that you know of today, there won't be something tomorrow."While he said that U.S. authorities have thwarted attacks on a number of occasions, he said terrorist cells may be working harder than ever to plot high-impact events. He did not point to any specific intelligence that authorities have received but said the "chatter" they are hearing "gives me no reason to believe they're going to slow down" in their efforts to target the U.S."If an organization like that is to maintain credibility and continue to grow more of its extremists, it has to show tangible results," Renuart said. "So I think there may be a certain sense of urgency among that organization to have an effect. So it would tell me that they're trying harder."Of the more than a dozen daily events that Northern Command responds to—ranging from natural disasters to threats—two or three may have the potential to be terrorist incidents, he said. The chatter, which included public audio and video tapes released on the Internet by al-Qaida leaders, suggests that they are looking for a way to have a big impact again, he said. Pressed for details, he said the chatter was more common but "whether that's louder or more ominous, I'm not sure I'm ready to draw that conclusion."He did, however, repeat his assertion—which he first made last July—that he believes there are al-Qaida cells or sympathizers within the United States.President Bush, in a speech, also said the United States remained under threat from terrorists. Marking the fifth anniversary of the creation of the Homeland Security Department, Bush said that in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks "it was hard to imagine that we would reach this milestone without another attack on our homeland."Yet he said, "On this anniversary, we must also remember that the danger to our country has not passed. Since the attacks of 9/11, the terrorists have tried to strike our homeland again and again. We've disrupted numerous planned attacks—including a plot to fly an airplane into the tallest building on the West Coast and another to blow up passenger jets headed for America across the Atlantic Ocean."Bush said the lesson is clear: "The enemy remains active, deadly in its intent—and in the face of this danger, the United States must never let down its guard."

Cyber-Rebels in Cuba Defy State’s Limits

HAVANA-[[[A growing underground network of young people armed with computer memory sticks, digital cameras and clandestine Internet hookups has been mounting some challenges to the Cuban government in recent months, spreading news that the official state media try to suppress.]]]Last month, students at a prestigious computer science university videotaped an ugly confrontation they had with Ricardo Alarcón, the president of the National Assembly.Mr. Alarcón seemed flummoxed when students grilled him on why they could not travel abroad, stay at hotels, earn better wages or use search engines like Google. The video spread like wildfire through Havana, passed from person to person, and seriously damaged Mr. Alarcón’s reputation in some circles.Something similar happened in late January when officials tried to impose a tax on the tips and wages of employees of foreign companies. Workers erupted in jeers and shouts when told about the new tax, a moment caught on a cellphone camera and passed along by memory sticks.“It passes from flash drive to flash drive,” said Ariel, 33, a computer programmer, who, like almost everyone else interviewed for this article, asked that his last name not be used for fear of political persecution. “This is going to get out of the government’s hands because the technology is moving so rapidly.”Cuban officials have long limited the public’s access to the Internet and digital videos, tearing down unauthorized satellite dishes and keeping down the number of Internet cafes open to Cubans. Only one Internet cafe remains open in Old Havana, down from three a few years ago. Hidden in a small room in the depths of the Capitol building, the state-owned cafe charges a third of the average Cuban’s monthly salary-about $5-to use a computer for an hour. The other two former Internet cafes in central Havana have been converted into “postal services” that let Cubans send e-mail messages over a closed network on the island with no links to the Internet. “It’s a sort of telegraph service,” said one young man, shrugging as he waited in line to use the computers at a former Internet cafe on O’Reilly Street.Yet the government’s attempts to control access are increasingly ineffective. Young people here say there is a thriving black market giving thousands of people an underground connection to the world outside the Communist country. People who have smuggled in satellite dishes provide illegal connections to the Internet for a fee or download movies to sell on discs. Others exploit the connections to the Web of foreign businesses and state-run enterprises. Employees with the ability to connect to the Internet often sell their passwords and identification numbers for use in the middle of the night.Hotels catering to tourists provide Internet services, and Cubans also exploit those conduits to the Web.Even the country’s top computer science school, the University of Information Sciences, set in a campus once used by Cuba’s spy services, has become a hotbed of cyber-rebels.Students download everything from the latest American television shows to articles and videos criticizing the government, and pass them quickly around the island.“There is a whole underground market of this stuff,” Ariel said. The video of Mr. Alarcón’s clash with students was leaked to the BBC and CNN, giving the world a rare glimpse of the discontent among the young with the system. His answers to the questions seemed evasive. Asked about the ban on travel, Mr. Alarcón suggested that if everyone who wished to were allowed to travel, there would not be enough airspace for the planes.Another event many people witnessed through the digital underground was the arrival in the United States of Carlos Otero, a popular television personality and humorist in Cuba who defected in December while on a trip to Toronto.Illegal antennas caught signals from Miami television stations, which youths turned into digital videos and shared. Though the event smacked more of celebrity news than politics, it would never have been shown on the official media. Some young journalists have also started blogs and Internet news sites, using servers in other countries, and their reports are reaching people through the digital underground. Yoani Sánchez, 32, and her husband, Reinaldo Escobar, 60, established Consenso desde Cuba , a Web site based in Germany.Ms. Sánchez has attracted a considerable following with her blog, Generación Y, in which she has artfully written gentle critiques of the government by describing her daily life in Cuba. Ms. Sánchez and her husband said they believed strongly in using their names with articles despite the possible political repercussions. Shortly before Raúl Castro was elected president last week to replace his ailing brother, Fidel, Ms. Sánchez wrote a piece describing what sort of president she wanted. She said the country did not need a soldier, a charismatic leader or a great speaker, but “a pragmatic housewife” who favored freedom of speech and open elections.Writing later about Raúl Castro’s first speech as president, she criticized his vague promises of change, saying they were as clear as the Rosetta Stone was when it was first found. Both essays would be impossible to publish in Cuba.“The Internet has become the only terrain that is not regulated,”she said in an interview.Because Ms. Sánchez, like most Cubans, can get online for only a few minutes at a time, she writes almost all her essays beforehand, then goes to the one Internet cafe, signs on, updates her Web site, copies some key pages that interest her and walks out with everything on a memory stick.Friends copy the information, and it passes from hand to hand.“It’s a solid underground,” she said.“The government cannot control the information.”It is spread by readers like Ricardo,28, a philosophy student at the University of Havana who sells memory sticks to other students.European friends buy blank flash drives, and others carry them into Cuba, where the drives available through normal channels are very expensive and scarce.Like many young Cubans, Ricardo plays a game of cat and mouse with the authorities. He doubts that the government will ever let ordinary citizens have access to the Internet in their homes.“That’s far too dangerous,” he said. “Daddy State doesn’t want you to get informed, so it preventively keeps you from surfing.”Pedro, a midlevel official with a government agency, said he often surfed Web sites like the BBC and The Miami Herald at work, searching for another view of the news besides the ones presented in the state-controlled media. He predicted that the 10,000 students studying the Internet and programming at the University of Information Sciences would transform the country over time, opening up more and more avenues of information.“We are training an army of information specialists,” he said.

DECEPTION WATCH:Hillary: “I Have Felt the Presence of the Holy Spirit”

In July of last year, Hillary Clinton gave an interview to New York Times reporter Michael Luo about her faith. It's a fairly in depth interview.Well, for your listening pleasure, The Brody File found the actual audio from the interview and it's really interesting. Reading the transcription of the interview is one thing, but hearing Hillary Clinton talk about her faith is very different. Listen here. You can read the transcription here.At the time, the article got significant play but some of the quotes from the whole interview never got used in the article. Here are some key quotes that I thought you might be interested to look at:
Hillary Clinton: I believe in the father, son, and Holy Spirit, and I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit on many occasions in my years on this earth.
Reporter: Can I ask you theologically, do you believe that the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, that it actually historically did happen?
Senator Clinton: Yes, I do.
Reporter: And, do you believe on the salvation issue -- and this is controversial too -- that belief in Christ is needed for going to heaven?
Senator Clinton: That one I'm a little more open to. I think that it is, as we understand our relationship to God as Christians, it is how we see our way forward, and it is the way. But, ever since I was a little girl, I've asked every Sunday school teacher I've ever had, I asked every theologian I've ever talked with, whether that meant that there was no salvation, there was no heaven for people who did not accept Christ.[[[And, you're well aware that there are a lot of answers to that.]]]There are people who are totally rooted in the fact that, no, that's why there are missionaries, that's why you have to try to convert. And, then there are a lot of other people who are deeply faithful and deeply Christ-centered who say, that's how we understand it and [[[who are we to read God's mind about such a weighty decision as that. ]]](1)
Reporter: And your attitude toward the Bible about how literally people should take it.
Senator Clinton: I think the whole Bible is real. The whole Bible gives you a glimpse of God and God's desire for a personal relationship, but we can't possibly understand every way God is communicating with us. I've always felt that people who try to shoehorn in their cultural and social understandings of the time into the Bible might be actually missing the larger point that we're supposed to take from the Bible.

http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/334482.aspx
PS:Hillary's comments highlighted in red show us all that she is not saved.
There are not many answers to salvation. There is only one way according to the Bible and salvation is thru faith in Jesus alone,no Mary,no pope,no bishop,no prophet,no works, that anybody should boast,BUT BY FAITH.
Who are we to read God's mind...???What a stupid statement.....!!!!OF course we cannot read Gods mind BUT WE CAN READ HIS WORD,were we can get to know His Mind and Heart and Will towards men......
Another candidate that doesnt fool truly born again christians....!!!!!
