Livni:Time for Israel to reevaluate Gaza policy

Israeli Foreign Minister and prime ministerial candidate Tzipi Livni on Sunday attacked Defense Minister Ehud Barak for failing to take harsher action against Gaza-based Palestinian terrorists who continue to attack southern Israel.Dozens of rockets and mortar shells were fired into southern Israel over the weekend, causing no injuries and only minor damage.Speaking at Sunday's cabinet meeting, Livni insisted that "whoever is responsible for security needs to act."Barak fired back that Livni was using the Gaza situation for her own political gain. He also said that he would continue to carefully weigh any response to the Gaza rockets and refused to commit to the kind of harsh military action that he and other Israeli leaders regularly threaten.Prior to her becoming leader of the ruling Kadima Party, Livni was consistently opposed to the use of overwhelming force against the Gaza terrorists.
