Ministry founder: Indian subcontinent facing increased instability

The founder of Gospel for Asia, a ministry that trains missionaries to spread the gospel throughout that continent, is encouraging Christians to pray for peace in Pakistan, one week after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. K.P. Yohannan says the recent assassination of the former Pakistani prime minister will make the region even more unstable.Riots broke out throughout Pakistan shortly after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Soon thereafter, Gospel for Asia (GFA) founder K.P. Yohannan contacted ministry leaders in India, who said the event was bringing a huge crisis to the Indian subcontinent.[[[["As people know, Pakistan has always been a place where Christians have been persecuted-and they have this law in Pakistan called the law of blasphemy," Yohannon points out. "That is, anybody who says anything against Islamic beliefs, or at least is accused of saying such things, they will be brutally murdered-and it has happened all these years."]]]]According to Yohannon, the area has been unstable for years. "Ever since the partition between India and Pakistan ... there has always been that battle and fight over the border," explains the ministry leader.[[[["The fear is that the Islamic extremists know no boundaries nor do they claim citizenship of any country. Their citizenship is one they believe-and they declare a holy war and go after anyone they think they should go after."]]]][[[[[[Dr. Yohannan says Christians in America and worldwide should pray for the safety of Christians in Pakistan, and also for peace in the region. "We should not just be listening and watching from a distance," he urges, "but I think we ought to be praying earnestly because we are the agents of peace and reconciliation, to bring God's kingdom and the communication of peace that comes through Christ in our generation."]]]]]]AMEN TO THAT.....!!!!!
