Wildfire Survivors Give Thanks at Church Services

SAN DIEGO - Survivors of firestorms that destroyed more than 2,000 homes in Southern California have taken time to worship and thank God even as the damage toll mounts. At the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, where 60 families lost their homes, worshipers gave thanks for lives saved and for God's comfort amid trials. In the Lake Arrowhead region of the fire-ravaged San Bernardino Mountains, a sign outside the Community Presbyterian Church said, "Life is Fragile; Handle with Prayer."Members hugged and rejoiced that the fire had spared all local members' homes.Bill Lange, a scientist who led the service, prayed, "Dear Lord, thank you for sparing us again, and thank you for helping all the people who needed the help."

As in the days of Noah....
