Gov. Ernie Fletcher has called a special legislative session to start on Aug. 13. He called a special session in June, but was forced to call another one when the House refused to vote on SB 5 — the bill that would stop universities from granting benefits to domestic partners. On Aug. 13, there will be a Rally for Marriage at 2 p.m. at the Capitol.
Kent Ostrander, executive director of The Family Foundation, is asking Kentuckians to continue contacting their state representatives.
“We need everyone involved to get more phone calls to legislators,” Ostrander said, “and to bring as many people as possible to Frankfort on August 13 for our last stand of this year.”
