New Yorkers paid tribute to veterans Sunday with somber ceremonies, traditional parades - and an ear-splitting helicopter demonstration."It was totally awesome," said Tom Kobel, 47, a mechanic from Bayside, Queens, who was among spectators watching Marines land four helicopters in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
