Rebel forces loyal to a powerful Muslim clan whose stronghold is under martial law in the southern Philippines have engaged troops in clashes, a senior government official said Monday."There have been shooting incidents between these groups and the Philippine National Police," Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno told reporters.
"They have engaged in actual firefights with some of the uniformed services," he said.
