Frank Page to Be Part of Obama's Faith Council
The pastor of Taylors First Baptist Church has accepted an offer to join the office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.The Greenville News reports that President Barack Obama and the organization's chairman had their eyes on Pastor Frank Page since meeting him about a year ago in Pennsylvania, during Page's final months as president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Page said he was criticized by some for accepting the offer to be on the council, but he said, he feels he can play an important role in helping set the direction for the organization.The group includes leaders of Jewish, Catholic and other religious and secular organizations.
