Rice to consult Arabs, others about Mideast ceasefire

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will travel to New York Tuesday for consultations at the United Nations to "further efforts" on a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, a US official said."Secretary Rice will travel to New York today. She will consult with friends and allies, including Arab ministers, (Palestinian) president (Mahmud) Abbas and the Turkish foreign minister (Ali Babacan)," a State Department official said."She will also attend the UN Security Council meeting. She will remain overnight and have more consultations tomorrow," the official said on the condition of anonymity. "The purpose is to further efforts to achieve a ceasefire," he said."I don't have any prediction for the Security Council meeting," he said when asked if there would be a vote.
