President Obama remains confident he can make progress by communicating with Iran, Jerome Corsi's Red Alert reports.In an ABC News interview on Jan. 11, Obama repeated his campaign promise that he plans to work with the Islamic republic directly, suggesting once again that his administration could take a "new approach," emphasizing "respect and a new willingness to talk."Obama's remarks cause seasoned Iran observers to contemplate his inexperience in foreign policy, Corsi wrote.Iran resisted eight years of Bush administration persuasion through the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Union nations of Great Britain, Germany and France, as well as U.N. Security Council sanctions."Despite all this international pressure, Iran continues to enrich uranium," Corsi wrote. "What difference is Obama going to make?"Last Tuesday Iranian protesters burned a poster of Obama during a demonstration in support of Hamas, held in front of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran."Iran will certainly be happy to go along with Obama, as long as Obama allows it to continue enriching uranium while operating a secret nuclear weapons program," Corsi contends.
