Inside Joseph's Tomb(IsraelNN.com) Hundreds of people participated in a nighttime prayer session at Joseph's Tomb (Kever Yosef HaTzadik) in biblical Shechem Thursday. The IDF put up roadblocks and stepped up its presence in the roads of Samaria in order to provide security for the worshippers.The prayer session was organized by the Samaria regional Council and 'One Shechem' and received full cooperation from the security forces.
Golden Wedding at Havat Gilad
Also Thursday, Bob and Elaine K., a couple from New Jersey, celebrated their golden wedding in an event for children at Havat Gilad. Hundreds participated in the event, which took place against a backdrop of harsh attacks in the media on Havat Gilad, whose residents were accused of various "provocations" against Arabs.Israelis came from Givatayim, Tel Aviv and Haifa as well as Judea and Samaria to celebrate the event and to express identification with the local residents. The children got to ride horses and donkeys, and various other playful and creative activities. The adults were shown around the ranch by the head of the Samaria International Liaison Office, David Ha'Ivri.Bob K. spoke at the extra-large sukkah that was put up for the occasion and said that "the hilltop youths are the nation's heroes. It is an honor to see young Jews who are devoted to the Land of Israel – would that I could be like them."The event came just two days after Border Police attacked residents of the community with severe violence and blocked attempts to enter and exit the community in the final hour before the commencement of the Sukkot holiday.
