Tornado Hits Denver Area-Colorado

A tornado touched down in Douglas County this evening near Interstate 25 and Happy Canyon Road.There were no immediate reports of damage.The area is largely open, with a scattering of homes.The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for a swath of the south metro region that includes Castle Rock, Castle Pines, the Denver Technology Center, eastern Arapahoe County and northwest Elbert County until 6 p.m.At 5:21 p.m. trained weather spotters reported a funnel cloud 2 miles north of Castle Rock, though the storm appeared nearly stationary, the Weather Service reported.In the warning area, more funnel clouds and short-lived tornadoes are possible.
