Tens of Estonian volunteers with military background were expected to fly to Georgia already yesterday, but are still in Estonia because of lack of suitable transportation.Postimees writes that what is surprising about this unofficial mission is that it is not yet clear what these people were expected to do in the battle-torn republic. At first the volunteers were expected to fly to Georgia with the same Estonian Air plane that was delivering humanitarian aid, but later the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied such plans. Priit Heinsalu, a representative of the group that calls reserve officers to volunteer for Georgia, said yesterday that transportation was still not provided. The volunteers have been divided into groups according to military order and were supposed to hand out humanitarian aid in Georgia and liquidate the consequences of war. For a strange reason they were asked to bring about their uniform of the Estonian Defense Forces although it cannot be worn since it is not an official mission of Estonia.By Toomas Hõbemägi
