Palestinians Once Again At Each Other’s Throats

After a bomb exploded in Gaza and killed five Hamas fighters and a little girl, Hamas is making sweeps to detain people from the rival political organization, Fatah.Somewhere in the mix of all this they’ve determined that Fatah is behind the blast and they’re arresting their fellow Palestinians by the score. While their anger and emotional reaction about being attacked like this isn’t surprising, I think this statement stands out: “The Fatah movement is behind this reprehensible crime,” senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya told a crowd of thousands of supporters and other senior leaders at a funeral for those killed.“Those who carried out this crime are making war on God, on the security of Gaza, and on the resistance,” he said. “They will not be released after six months but will be hanged from the gallows and shot.”
So...let me get this straight.
When Hamas or any other group blows up Israelis in cafes or bus stops or kills them using a bulldozer or kills a father in front of her daughter and then bashes the girl’s brains out with a rifle butt they are considered heroes and martyrs and are lionized by what passes for a society in their world.BUT....when it happens to them it’s a “reprehensible crime”.Am I the only one who can see the twisted irony here?
Oh, and one more thing. If you read the article you’ll note that five of those killed were veteran fighters. Working under the assumption that it would be pretty tough to get close enough to plant a bomb - evidently a big one at that - near people like that I suspect that when all the rocks are turned over you’ll find that Hamas itself is behind this.Would they bomb their own? Absolutely. If they could use something like this as an excuse for a political purge they would most certainly do so. No, they are not above killing their own to make political hay.
