Israel reopens Gaza crossings for goods: army
Israel reopened Wednesday three border crossings for goods into the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, ending the blockade it had reimposed on the Palestinian territory for a rocket attack, a military spokesman said."The Karni, Nahal Oz and Erez terminals were reopened this morning," said spokesman Peter Lerner.Israel closed the three crossings-the main points for transit of goods into the impoverished territory-on Tuesday in response to a rocket attack the day before in violation of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement.Egypt partially opened its Rafah crossing point with the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, allowing Palestinians needing to leave the territory to do so.
