Iran 'to appoint new FM spokesman'

The former Iranian ambassador to Germany, Mohammad-Mehdi Akhoundzadeh, is likely to assume the post of Foreign Ministry spokesman. Akhoundzadeh is to replace Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, who has recently been appointed as Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs,Mehrnews reported. Akhoundzadeh was previously Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has served in Iran's mission to Geneva. Informed but unofficial sources have told Press TV that the appointment is likely to happen.
