Dolly's path misses Gulf's oil producing areas: EIA

WASHINGTON-The current path of Tropical Storm Dolly, which is forecast to become a hurricane, misses the major offshore oil producing areas of the United States and Mexico, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said on Monday."It looks like the fields and offshore platforms aren't in that area (of Dolly's path)," EIA analyst Neil Gamson told Reuters. The storm is forecast to come onshore on Wednesday near the Texas-Mexico border. Gamson said the major problems to the U.S. oil sector from Dolly could be power outages and flooding at oil refineries near Corpus Christi, Texas."They could be affected ... with electricity out and flooding," he said.
