Obama campaign worker helps set up anti-Dobson site

A campaign worker for Barack Obama was instrumental in launching a new website designed to counter Dr. James Dobson's criticism of the Democratic presidential nominee.A recent article on OneNewsNow featured comments by Methodist pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, a Barack Obama supporter. The pastor took issue with James Dobson's contention that Obama distorts the Bible with his theological views. Caldwell, who is affiliated with the website JamesDobsonDoesntSpeakForMe.com, initially told OneNewsNow that the website was operated by Matthew 25, a political action committee working with Obama supporters.However, upon investigation, it was found that the site was actually registered to Alyssa Martin, an intern in the Obama campaign's "religious affairs" department.The domain registration has since been changed to Pastor Caldwell's name.In an earlier interview, Caldwell told OneNewsNow he did not know Alyssa Martin, but on Thursday afternoon admitted the intern had been helping him set up the website. He also reported that to his knowledge, she is no longer with the Obama campaign. Caldwell pastors 14,000-member Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, but is perhaps best known for delivering the benediction at both of George W. Bush's presidential inaugurations. He also performed the wedding ceremony for the Bushes' daughter, Jenna, last month.
