Israel: Iran has set up listening stations in Syria to intercept Israeli communications

JERUSALEM:Israeli security officials say Iran has set up sophisticated listening stations in Syria in recent months to intercept Israeli military communications.The officials say they have ordered senior officers to take a series of precautions. For instance, senior officers will no longer be allowed to bring their mobile phones into rooms were classified information is being discussed.That way, the listening stations won't be able to hear sensitive conversations that might be going on in the background while generals talk on their cellular phones.Israel considers Iran to be its greatest threat. It says Iran is arming Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon by funneling weapons through Syria. It also believes Iran is developing a nuclear bomb.
