WITCHCRAFT REPACKAGED:Last Potter book to be made into two-part film

LOS ANGELES-Warner Brothers studio plans to make JK Rowling's last book in the Harry Potter series into a two-part film with the first chapter opening in 2010, Hollywood media reported on Thursday.Part one of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will hit the screen in November 2010 and the second will appear in May 2011,Variety reported. Warner decided to split the story from the 784-page book into two parts as it hopes for continued success at the box office after previous movies generated 4.5 billion dollars worldwide, the industry paper said. David Yates will return as director, having overseen the fifth film "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix" and the sixth film,"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,"which is due to be released in November.Steve Kloves will write the screen adaptation of the seventh and final book of the wildly successful Potter series, having written all previous screenplays except for the "Order of the Phoenix" movie.The Harry Potter books have sold around 350 million copies worldwide and are translated into 65 different languages, making British author Rowling into a billionaire.The "Deathly Hallows" book, which came out in July and features Potter and his friends battling his nemesis Voldemort to the death, sold a record 11 million copies in the first 24 hours after its release.
