DAPHNE, Ala.-[[[Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church members have ousted their pastor after he filed a civil lawsuit against them to keep his post while facing criminal charges and a divorce. In a Sunday vote ordered by a Baldwin County Circuit Court judge, 112 members called for removing the Rev. David C. Harrison, according to Harrison’s lawyer, Willie J. Huntley Jr. Church leaders said 50 people wanted Harrison to stay.]]]“He’ll live with the decision and he’ll move on,”Huntley told the Press-Register in a story Tuesday.“This was all he ever wanted,to learn whether the church members no longer desired him to be there.”Harrison was arrested Jan. 2 at his Daphne home on a charge of domestic violence.In a protection petition, his wife wrote that Harrison pushed me down outside front door, my head hit the cement walkway. Before one of his sermons in late January, a group of deacons called police to remove him from church grounds. In his civil complaint against the church and several deacons, he alleged that the removal violated church bylaws.A judge put the final decision in the congregation’s hands.Orrie J.
