Kansas Baptist Church Intends to Picket Heath Ledger's Funeral Because He Played Gay Character

A radical Baptist church in Kansas known for picketing the funerals of soldiers who perished in Iraq said it intends to protest Heath Ledger's memorial service with signs claiming the actor died and is in Hell because he played a gay character in “Brokeback Mountain.”Shirley Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka said that she and other members will picket Ledger’s United States memorial services, not those held in his native Australia.“You cannot live in defiance of God,” she said. “He got on that big screen with a big, fat message: God is a liar and it’s OK to be gay.”A press release circulated by the church references Leviticus 18:22 in the Bible, which states that “thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”“Heath Ledger is now in Hell, and has begun serving his eternal sentence there,” the Westboro Baptist announcement says.Started 1955, the Topeka, Kan.-based church has conducted over 34,000 peaceful demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle, according to their Web site, GodHatesFags.com.The organization runs various Web sites, including GodHatesAmerica.com and others that condemn lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, Muslims, Roman Catholics and Jews as well as certain nationalities, according to Wikipedia.The Southern Poverty Law Center classifies the church as a hate group and the organization is monitored by the Anti-Defamation League, according to its Wikipedia entry.Phelps-Roper said the church group will also be picketing the Academy Awards this year.Both the printed release and Phelps-Roper’s verbal diatribe about Ledger were rife with homophobic slurs. She said that those who call her and other members of Westboro Baptist Church bigots must also think God is a bigot.“God hates fags,” she said. “The wrath of God has been revealed before the eyes of this nation with the death of Heath Ledger. … This nation worships the dead almost as much as they worship their filthy sex acts. America is doomed.”

PS:Here we go again....this is the typical example of NUTS that have totally lost it....I had the chance last year to watch part of an interview with this arpee Shirley,and it was horrible....I mean the lady you can tell even in her countenance is a ball of hatred....No Life of Christ there folks....just bitterness and hatred.I'd rather be thrown in a hole with lions that with her and her two daughters....it was like momma T-Rex was with her two youngs,teaching them how to tear appart their victim....
They had a total disregard for manners and kept repeating the same broken record phrase..."God hates fags"...and since they wouldn't behave the host had to raise her voice and was visibly upset because of the lack of communication...
In other instance,they were in another talk show and the host-that is black-ended up asking them,so "God hates me?"...And of course they sent her to hell and back literally....I was in shock I couldn't believe it...this host almost started crying cause the interview went totally south since that point and they had to go to commercials....I thought these 3 arpees were going to jump on top of the host and stump her to death....Im not kidding....I was in shock....
This gives a bad name to TRUE CHRISTIANISM and to the Baptist Church in general,who-by the way-have already read a statement last year saying that this nuts "church" in Kansas is NOT affiliated or under the Southern Baptist Convention..and that they regreted their actions.....This "NUTS CULTISH so called CHURCH" is not a CHRISTIAN CHURCH at all.Thank God that is not very large but its composed by the family of main NUT so called pastor Phelps.....I saw them here in town a couple of years ago picketting a Baptist Church on a sunday just because they had boy that was openly gay-the son of one of he members-that was starting attending church....Now....IF we are gonna push gays and any other person OUT OF THE CHURCH and SHUN THEM from HEARING THE ONLY WORD THAT CAN TRULY DELIVER THEM....where is Christ there....?Please......they even had lil kids holding signs that read GOD HATES YOU....You know this people is truly dangerous cause they take the Word of God and they twist it to fulfill their own agenda....
As far as I understand the Word of God they are not saved and they are not christians and I wonder also IF any body there in the family HAD or still HAS a problem with porn and HOMOSEXUALITY themselves and that's why they attack others like that so....Wouldn't surprise me....I know they are funded by somebody that want to make christians look like NUTS....
The unexpected death of Heath Ledger is a tragedy.And as christians the good thing we could do is to pray for his family,and child that the Lord would bring peace and comfort...IF he is in hell right now...well...there is nothing we can do about it....BUT we can still pray that God will move in the lives of family and friends to make them meditate about their own lives and eternity,that his death will produce a good fruit toward salvation....I was personally saddened by his death...
Yes he played a gay cowboy...and so what...???ALL HOLLYWEIRD needs to get saved!!!!

As long as people IS in DARKNESS they cannot see and they don't understand.
I am not better than he was,cause I am a sinner that needed to be saved and needed a Saviour like everybody else....And certainly these nuts from Kansas are not better that poor Heath...
May the Lord bring HOPE and COMFORT and SALVATION to Heath family here and in Australia....And may God deal with the Phelps....that -to their surprise-need a trip to the altar for salvation too....
