Maputo-Recent reported cases of cholera in Mozambique-which resulted in the death of eight people country wide-are reported to be under control, say reports.Antonio Paulino, the director of health services in the capital, Maputo, was quoted by the daily Noticias as saying there was a relative decline in the cases of cholera reported in the city's heavily populated neighbourhoods. He attributed the decline to the intensified campaigns carried out by the ministry."This resulted in a positive response and we hope that the situation will greatly improve in the next few days," said reports.For the past two months, cases of cholera were reported in the country with most of the cases in the central province of Zambezia and in Maputo. It was reported that all together, eight people died.Health authorities met last week in Maputo to review progress in the intervention methods that were used after the breakout was reported.The reports said 40 people, suspected of having contracted cholera, were still receiving treatment at Mavalane General Hospital in Maputo.Hospital officials said the patients were in a stable condition.As in the days of Noah...
