British Muslims Mourn Benazir Bhutto

British muslims have expressed shock and sadness at the assassination of Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.Respect councillor and muslim Salma Yaqoob said she was concerned for the future stability of the country."This election was absolutely pivotal for the future of Pakistan and it is an absolute tragedy," she said. Comedy actress Cleo Rocos, a friend of the former prime minister, said: "She was truly passionate. There was nothing phoney about her."She believed passionately that her country should be improved by education for all and improved rights for women."A Welsh Assembly member who travelled with Benazir Bhutto on her return to Pakistan in October, said he had expressed misgivings about her security arrangements.Plaid Cymru's Mohammad Asghar said he warned her advisers she was not getting enough protection.The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, said Ms Bhutto's killing was a "body blow for freedom" in Pakistan."It raises serious questions about the government's ability to provide security for its citizens when even one as she can be killed in this way."
