Trans World Radio (TWR) is making in impact in countries throughout the former Soviet Union and the North African basin.A consultant with TWR, who uses the pseudonym "Nathan" because of security concerns, says the ministry partners alongside like-minded organizations to reach Arabic and non-Arabic speaking people groups. Nathan says it is possible to talk about faith in a culture that is sensitive to religious matters."To talk about Jesus, again in contrast to our culture, to our tolerant society, talking about Jesus becomes a very intolerant issue often," he points out. "But, in these cultures, again, talking about Jesus [as] an honored prophet is something which is fairly easy."According to the consultant, TWR is reaching many people throughout the region, despite the challenges and possible security risks. Nathan points out a strong need for church leadership training that TWR can help provide. In a region that has very few churches and teachers, he says that they are seeing a good response to teaching programs broadcast over the radio. The TWR consultant says the radio ministry strives to be relevant to those they are trying to reach, without compromising the gospel. As in the days of Noah....
