Israel urges Disney to sue Hamas

Israel's Ynet news portal reported on Thursday that the Israeli Foreign Ministry, through its consulate in Los Angeles, is urging Walt Disney Corp. to file a breach of copyright suit against the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas. The copyright violation involves Hamas' use earlier this year of a character closely resembling Mickey Mouse in its flagship children's television program "Tomorrow's Pioneers."The character, named Farfour the Mouse, taught Palestinian children week after week to drink their milk, be good Muslims, and hate the Jews. The show became an instant hit in the Palestinian-controlled territories. But international pressure against the Palestinians quickly mounted in response to Mickey's jihadist twin, prompting Hamas to kill off Farfour. Even then the group took the opportunity to demonize Israel in an episode that showed Farfour being beaten to death by an actor portraying an Israeli security agent. The message to Palestinian children was clear: the evil Israelis had murdered their beloved role model.Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Majalli Whbee said that a senior source connected to Disney recently told him the entertainment giant would take punitive action against Hamas.
