SIGN of the TIMES:Former ORU professor: Many televangelists believe rules don't apply to them

A former professor at Oral Roberts University (ORU) who is suing the school says he believes the university's board of regents must take drastic action in light of allegations of financial mismanagement. Last week, ORU president Richard Roberts announced he was taking an indefinite leave of absence following allegations of financial misconduct and questionable moral actions of his wife.Dr. Tim Brooker is one of three former professors suing the Tulsa school, claiming they were either fired or forced to resign after their objections to Dr. Roberts' effort to enlist students in a Republican mayoral campaign, and the professors' attempts to warn university officials about reports of alleged financial and personal misconduct among the Roberts family.Brooker says while some were aware of the irregularities, many were not. "Some of the things that are going to come out or have come out or will come out about the """lifestyle of the Roberts, most people would never have known,"""" he shares. "You could live right next to them and have no clue what was actually going on behind the 12-foot fence around their compound."Roberts has denied the allegations made against him and his wife, stating from the onset that the lawsuit "is about intimidation, blackmail, and extortion." The executive board of ORU has stated it plans to conduct a full and thorough investigation.Brooker claims he and his colleagues raised their concerns more than a year ago, but were stonewalled by university officials. He contends that [[[[[many famous television preachers believe they do not have to follow the same rules and guidelines as everyone else."We elevate some of these high-profile televangelists to almost mythical status, and they get the message that they're different than other people," he says. "And they believe they don't have to keep the same standards that other people do."]]]]] The professor earlier shared that the objective behind the lawsuit is to save the university. "Some of the things that are going on ... are so problematic, that if they are left untreated and un-remedied, I don't see how the university can possibly survive," he said. Richard Roberts has stated he will remain in his roles as chief executive and chairman of Oral Roberts Ministries.

PS:This is a really bad deal....I don't know IF all the allegations are true or not.May be they are may be they are not....One thing I can tell you is that it seems that many televangelists have forgotten taht the Word of God calls the servant of God to be "SOBER"that includes I think EVERYTHING,ALL your LIFESTYLE....
WHy in the world does he have to live in the compound he lives with the big fence security and all the nine yards....?Why do they ahve to spend the money the way they do...???THEY DON'T HAVE TO,BUT THEY DO IT....
I don't know about the allegations re: Lindsay....
All this is too much.....
The Lord knows the situation exactly as it is.
IF the accusations are wrong, this is an attack of the devil as Oral said.
IF the accusations are RIGHT,this is a very sad thing to happen in a "christian university"
Whatever way we should be praying for the truth to come out,no matter what...!!!And IF they are guilty we should pray that the Lord will bring true repentance and restoration to them and their ministry.
One thing that we have to be in these last days is SOBER IN ALL THINGS....and have FEAR of GOD in our hearts everyday.....

As in the days of Noah....
