Israel to produce plastic money

The Bank of Israel will soon begin printing 20-shekel bank notes on sheets of plastic rather than the traditional paper in order to reduce wear and tear on what is statistically Israel's most heavily used paper bill.Ha'aretz reported that the new 20-shekel bills will be made of polypropylene polymer.The bank also plans to introduce a new two-shekel coin into circulation by the end of 2007.
