Indian church nears 200 new churches

India-Many people in India are finding hope in Christ thanks to the outreach of the Good Shepherd Community Church, an outreach of Operation Mobilization ."I had no hope," said Binky, a native of Punjab whose husband abandoned her to run away with her sister. "But now I know that God is there to help me."Binky, now 24 years old, married an abusive alcoholic as a teenager. After he left, she moved with her infant son to her mother's home and gave up hope. The ministry offered by the Good Shepherd Community church-planting team led her to give her life to Christ. She and her family now attend one of the Good Shepherd churches in Punjab state. "I am going to surrender my life to Him and no longer worry about my future or my son's future," Binky said. Remarkable growth has been observed in the Indian church, with 200 new congregations added. One hundred of the largest congregational buildings are entering the first phases of construction. The quality of pastors and the faith of new believers is also growing. GSCC now has four years of pastoral seminar curriculum that will be implemented in all the churches throughout the region.Prayer and support is needed for the regional churches and their teams, as workers continue to face threats and persecution.

As in the days of Noah....
