Iran Blocks Access to Google,Gmail

Iranian news agency Maher reported Monday that the Iranian regime has blocked access to Internet search engine Google and to the popular email provider Gmail from Iranian territory. Iranian officials confirmed the report, but did not explain their decision to ban the sites.Iran has blocked thousands of sites in the past for containing sexual content, political criticism, or other material seen as harmful to the regime.{{{including all sorts of christian websites or other "potentially dangerous" website with religious content}}}The regime has taken other steps to control society in recent months, increasing enforcement of modest dress laws for women and criminalizing “Western” haircuts for men.
