UNBELIEVABLE:Idaho taxpayers ordered to fund hormone therapy for transgender prison inmate

The executive director of the Idaho Values Alliance is blasting a federal judge's ruling that ordered female hormone therapy for a male Idaho inmate.Bryan Fischer is particularly incensed by the ruling because it forces taxpayers to pay for thetreatment.Federal District Judge Mikel Williams recently ordered female hormone therapy be given to Jenniffer Spencer, who changed his name from Randall Gammett after he was imprisoned in 2000 for possession of a stolen car and escape.Spencer claimed that he was a woman, trapped in a man's body, and was eligible for hormone therapy. He then sued the state, claiming that his rights were violated because he was denied the therapy.Judge Williams said corrections department officials must provide the treatment while the case makes its way through the legal system. In response, Idaho Values Alliance (IVA) executive director Bryan Fischer says the judge's ruling consigns the inmate to a lifetime of sexual confusion, and makes Idaho taxpayers complicit in the process.
"We look at this as just the worst kind of judicial activism,"Fischer says."This federal judge essentially is normalizing transgenderism by saying the state must spend money on this kind of therapy, indicating that transgenderism,in his view,is just a normal alternative to
heterosexuality."Fischer says it is appalling that tax dollars will be spent on the hormone therapy, and he is encouraging concerned Christians throughout his state to speak out against Judge Williams' ruling. The IVA spokesman calls the hormone therapy"a twisted approach to resolving gender identity disorders.""It makes sense to us that if we're going to spend any kind of tax dollars on trying to help someone who is caught in this tragic situation, what we ought to be doing is helping them learn how to embrace their God-given sexuality, learning how to embrace and accept the gender that they were assigned at birth,"says the family advocate.
Fischer says the decision to spend taxpayer dollars to turn males into females should be made by state lawmakers, not by unaccountable judges.
