LOVE WAXING COLD:'Trafficked' man found dead

El-Arish-Egyptian police on Wednesday found the body of a Sudanese man who had been bound hand and foot,beaten to death and dumped in a village near the Israeli border,said a security source.Police suspected that Ibrahim Abdullah Nagib Mohammed, 30,was killed after a disagreement with Bedouin human traffickers who were trying to get a group of Africans across the desert border into Israel,said the source.According to the source,the body was found in the village of El-Tawil,outside the Mediterranean town of El-Arish,on a road known to be used by smugglers.Hundreds of African refugees and economic migrants tried to cross the 250km Egypt-Israel border illegally in the hope of finding a better life,with Egyptian border guards occasionally opening fire on them.
Border guards shot dead
Human Rights Watch on Tuesday said it had sent a letter to the Egyptian interior ministry calling for an investigation to be launched into allegations that border guards had killed three Sudanese trying to cross into Israel.The New York-based body cited Israeli reports that Egyptian border guards had shot dead one refugee and beaten to death two others.
Egyptian security forces on July 22 shot dead a Darfuri woman as she and 26 other African migrants tried to cross into Israel.The following day,Egyptian police shot and wounded a Sudanese man as he tried to do the same.A security source at the border said that 220 African refugees had been detained in July trying to enter Israel illegally,most of them Darfuris.
According to UN figures,1 200 refugees from Sudan were in Israel,among them 300 from the war-torn Darfur region.
