Landslides kill 14 in Kenya

Malava-A village struck by two landslides that killed at least 14 people was evacuated on Sunday because of fears of another devastating stream of mud, authorities said. Eighteen people were missing.Saturday's landslides hit this rural village in western Kenya within hours of each other, burying homes and rescuers who had rushed to the scene. Dozens were injured and some residents were missing, but it was unclear how many."We have evacuated people from the area because there is a risk of another landslide,"said Peter Kavila, the western provincial police officer."We advise people to stay away from the area and let experts embark on search and rescue."Malava is about 600km from the capital, Nairobi.
