Growing Chinese Threat to America

The U.S. trade deficit with China reached nearly $233 billion in 2006;and in the first five months of this year,America has been buying at a rate 15 percent higher than last year;yet U.S.intelligence agencies are more concerned than ever about China's growing military threat and spying against the US.FBI Director Robert Mueller told the House Judiciary Committee that"China is stealing our secrets in an effort to leap ahead in terms of its military technology but also the economic capability of China. It is a substantial threat that we are addressing in the sense of putting-building our program to address this threat."In March,Joel Brenner,America's national counterintelligence executive, cited the case of Chi Mak,a U.S. government contractor who worked on the Navy's next-generation,high-tech warship project, specifically on the technology that kept submarines and surface warships
stealth,or quiet, from detection.A search of Mak's house found that he had been selling America's defense secrets to the Chinese since 1983.This was just one example as Brenner said Chinese intelligence services are"eating our lunch"by spying on the U.S.In March,China said it would bolster defense spending by 17.8 percent,to about $45 billion this year. But a Pentagon report cited U.S. intelligence estimates that China's total military-related spending for 2007 could fall between $85-125 billion. The Washington Times reports China's military last week quietly showed a new medium-range missile that is part of Beijing's rapid military buildup of nuclear and conventional forces.Little is known about this new missile, but one Chinese Web site that first mentioned the missile on Sunday stated that it has a range of about 2,000 miles and can carry up to three multiple nuclear warheads.During the late 1970s,the conventional wisdom was that if the U.S. opened trade with countries like Russia and China, they would be less likely to want to go to war with America. China, however,is using the trade deficit with the U.S. to build its military-and it may well see the United States as just another business acquisition once its military gets strong enough. China is stealing our military secrets and growing its offensive military capabilities while patriotic Americans are at Wal-Mart buying G.I. Joes made in China for their kids. The Apostle Paul spoke of the end times in 2 Timothy 4:13 (NKJV),"But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."Americans need to wake up to what's really happening.
