
Muslims who become followers of Christ face enormous challenges. Many must find new places to live as they flee for their lives from families wishing to restore the honor of the community by killing them.In the past year alone, 140 Muslim-background believers (MBBs) have had to find refuge in Open Doors safe houses. And hundreds more have been helped with livelihood projects, food, medical help and emergency funds.During a recent fact-finding trip to Egypt, an Open Doors team learned first-hand of the pressures on pastors who are seeking to help MBBs. Many of these pastors risk everything… including their lives… to secretly help these new believers who have been found out as followers of Jesus. One pastor, Anis*, said, “Working with Muslim-background believers is like letting a tornado into your life. It is agonizing to hear their stories of unimaginable suffering, normally at the hands of their own families.”...
