A Florida pastor and radio talk-show host is asking Christians to help him find what he calls the "Black Regiment."The "Black Regiment" was a group of Protestant clergymen in colonial America who stood up against the Crown and led the colonies in their fight for freedom and independence. Pensacola,Florida, pastor Chuck Baldwin believes the times today are very similar to the days of colonial America."I do believe that we are involved in a struggle for independence and freedom,"says Baldwin,"and we are,I believe,at a crossroads-spiritually,morally,politically,and culturally-as to whether or not freedom and independence will be maintained."That is why Baldwin is urging Christians to help him compile a list of pastors nationwide who are of Black Regiment caliber."They are Bible men;they are family men,"he describes."They are men who understand that the church has a responsibility to be the salt and the light to society, and who are willing to stand against the political powers that-be on principles of right and freedom."In a column published on ChristianWorldviewNetwork.com,Baldwin writes there is currently a need for Black Regiment preachers who are unafraid to publicly protest things like abortion,"hate crimes"legislation, illegal alien amnesty, and "unconstitutional policies of President Bush.""Make no mistake about it," says the talk-show host."People today apparently desire a feel-good,emotionally based kind of church;and they're flocking to these false teachers in droves.I do believe that it's always been the case that God's preachers have been in a minority, and we've never needed a majority to prevail. We didn't have a majority in 1776;we don't have to have a majority today."Baldwin, who hosts the radio program "Chuck Baldwin Live,"says without the leadership of pastors in America, freedoms enjoyed by its citizens will not be able to be maintained much longer.http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/07/florida_pastor_seeks_remnant_o.php
