The Supreme Court in Nepal has ordered an inquiry into whether the tradition of worshipping a "living goddess" has led to the exploitation of girls.The worshipping by some Hindus and Buddhists of the "goddess" - or Kumari - in Kathmandu is centuries-old.
The landmark order has come in response to a petition seeking an end to the tradition, which campaigners say is a violation of human rights.
A final ruling is due after the three-month investigation is completed.

La Corte Suprema de Nepal ha ordenado una investigacion,para saber si la tradicion de "adorar a una diosa viviente"ha llevado a la explotacion de ninas.La adoracion por parte de algunos hindues y budistas de "diosas"o "kumari"en Katmandu tiene cientos de anos.
Esta orden historica ha surgido como respuesta a una peticion,que busca terminar con la tradicion,la cual,segun activistas,es una violacion de los derechos humanos.La respuesta final se obtendra luego de tres meses de investigacion.
