Hindu appointed to run Christian religion studies

New church college leader says 'proselytization' produces violence...
(ALL UPSIDE DOWN.....)
A college affiliated with a Christian denomination has appointed to head its religion department a practicing Hindu who believes that some forms of Christian ministry produce violence.
Anantanand Rambachan, who has taught religion and philosophy at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., since 1985, now will become the first non-Christian to head the religion department in the school's 133-year history.
"It's a great honor," Rambachan, a leading figure in Minnesota's Hindu community, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
But in an interview with Hinduism Today, he wrote of participating in the Pontifical Council in Rome in 2006. "Last year we met in Rome in a joint consultation with the World Council of Churches to discuss conversion. This was the first meeting of a three-year project to study the issue and to develop an acceptable code of conduct. Certain forms of Christian proselytization have given rise to tension and even violence between some religious communities," he said. "We gathered to share our perspectives on this matter and to consider acceptable and unacceptable ways of sharing our faiths in communities. Our discussion was frank and at times difficult, but we agreed that while everyone has a right to invite others to an understanding of their faith, no one has the right to violate others' rights and religious sensibilities. At the same time, all should heal themselves from the obsession of converting others," he wrote.

PS:This is so dangerous....But it's a sign of the times we are in.A lot of people call themselves Christians, but the truth of the matter is that they are not...and that would give enough material to talk in an exclusive another blog!!!There is this pattern I see of "ecumenism" taking place now in the world for quite some time. The notion that we can all hold hands and sing Kumbaya,is simply not going to happen. Can you picture an islamic school hiring a born again christian to teach anything there?Or a buddhist college or seminar hiring a christian to teach them to pray?Could you believe an agnostic association would happily hire a born again christian as a strategy director? There are things that cannot be mixed. They could but to the expense of Compromise and laying down of doctrines and beliefs. It will happen though, and as we approach to the end of these end times we will see this tendence and enthusiasts growing everywhere.About the "so called obsession of converting others" in true christianism,is grossly misunderstood, regarding other beliefs. The thing that drives true born again christians to evangelize is first to obey a commandment in the Word of God of "GO and Tell and make disciples" and the other is that the reality of a real hell will put fire in your bones to go and tell others that there is a WAY to heaven, which is not only to avoid hell but to have Eternal Life in Jesus.
For the regular man it is pure madness but for those of us that are born again, washed by His Precious blood is the driving force of our lives. To share the Eternal Life we have in Him.The Bible also exhorts us to live at peace with all men.The only difference I see between christians and others "Trying to force conversions on people" is that first of all we dont go around torturing and beheading people,we dont loot their possesions or forbid them or walking eating talking or living in certain areas of our countries. We share the Word of God and we pray for those that we would like to find life in Jesus.Of course sharing the Word of God can be offensive to some...That's in the Bible too...But it's because the Word of God has the power to pierce one's heart and to the very marrow of our bones to bring to light the intentions of the hearts. It has the power to bring conviction of sin to our lives thru the Holy Ghost. That's why we feel uncomfortable when somebody shares it with us.That happened to me.I understand.
BUT this is the Only Word that can set us free and forgive our sins.Jesus is the Word(Rev 19:13)And the Word will always cause controversy...Even more, when you stand for Jesus, you'll probably turn to be highly unpopular and rejected. That's alright .That happened to Jesus, why shouldn't it happen to us?
God bless you
As in the days of Noah...
