Bozell: Worldview 'disconnect' a factor in news media decline

The founder and president of the Media Research Center says all of the national media "are in a meltdown."On Wednesday, the Culture and Media Institute (CMI) hosted a forum in Washington titled "The Media Assault on American Values." One of the panelists, media watchdog Brent Bozell, noted that in the last ten years, the broadcast networks have lost 50 percent of their audience; and since 2003, even cable viewership has fallen. He also noted that since 1984, newspaper readership has dropped from 63 million average daily readers to 46 million."Where is everyone going? More importantly, why are they going where they're going?" asks Bozell. "Well, there's one easy answer: technology -- with the Internet, with web-casting, with pod-casting, with iPhones and iTunes and all sorts of things I don't even understand."
